KJo made this surprising revelation on Twinkle Khanna’s celebrity talk show ‘The Icons.’
During his appearance on the show, the director revealed he hosted the dinner for Vidya and Siddharth and the rest is history. Karan told Twinkle, “it’s very strange, Vidya called me the other day. It was her 12th anniversary, and she was like, because you know I had introduced her to Siddharth Roy Kapur and she was like, I wanna thank you. I haven’t said it enough. I am so touched by this call, more than any feedback I’ve got, that call meant the world to me. I remember telling Sid that Vidya will be lovely for you and bumping into Vidya at an event”. Notably, Twinkle even branded Karan as Netflix matchmaking star Sima Taparia, pointing out that even his father used to do this matchmaking business. To this, the filmmaker revealed that his late father had played a cupid between Shashi Rekhi and Waheeda Rehman. Johar even admitted that matchmaking is in his genes.
For the unversed, Vidya and Siddharth tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on December 14, 2012, in Mumbai's Bandra.
